Wal-Mart Offers Up Huawei W1 For $229
The 4", dual core device features a 5MP rear shooter and 4GB of internal storage. The internal memory is expandable via MicroSD card. The 1950mAh battery should be enough to get through the work day, but should allow power saver mode to kick in before hitting the charger at the end of long evening.
The $229.88 price tag puts the W1 at a very aggressive place. When considering the competition is a device like the LG Optimus series, the W1 is a solid offering. The Huawei W1 should also work nicely with AT&T, T-Mobile and their MVNOs like Spot Mobile and Red Pocket Mobile.

Giveaway Time: Spot Mobile SIM Card
This Giveaway is being sponsored by The Smartphone Report. I felt like passing it along since they have been good to me over the years. That, plus a $10 SIM card for free is a pretty decent deal. Of course another bonus is that you can run one of those new Nokia Lumia 521’s on Spot for $39.99 a month instead of T-Mobile’s almost $60 a month (after taxes) Simple Choice plans. Good deal? I think so!
Have you been itching to try a new provider, especially a low cost provider, but the pains of ordering a SIM have been holding you back, we have quite the giveaway for you. Our buddies at www.4GFastData.com have come through with a great SIM card giveaway for the T-Mobile powered MVNO. The $10 value can be yours if you just send an email to smartphonedeals@gmail.com and tell us why you think a $40 cellular bill would be nice for you. Great Review Of The Nokia Lumia 928
Sharing most of the features with its sister device, the Lumia 920, there isn't much to note hardware wise. That said, Lisa Gade of MobileTechReview did a great hands on that we wanted to pass along. So, hit the link below and enjoy the video.

Game Review: Taco Master
The play is simple enough. You drag tortillas from the plate down to the work station. Then you check the order and assemble it with the ingredients that are pictured. Sounds easy, right? Well, the orders start humming pretty quickly in arcade mode so get ready.
Overall, Taco Master is a great way to kill some time and even is a game worth mastering. Multiple modes and a free price tag make this a bargain. Check out Taco Master from Kaxan Games before the freebie deal disappears.

Lumia 810 Goes Groupon For $310
Sure, the 810 is an amazing phone. It is such a good device, it is still my daily driver. Unfortunately, when you go spec for spec with the Lumia 521 at $150, there's nobody that would recommend buying an EOL device over a slightly less powerful one.
If you are so in love with it and you just don't want to let those pretty Windows Phone 8 device go, then head on over to Groupon.com and grab one before they are gone.

Use Backlight For Better Photos
If there is one frustrating part about smartphones, it has to be having a great camera and still getting those not-so-great pictures. Most of the time, the issue with images that turn out poorly is that they come out under exposed, or too dark. One quick settings change on your Windows Phone will definitely make it better
With backlight setting active.
With auto setting active.
Going into your camera App and selecting Photo Settings will bring up a menu of options. By setting the scenes menu to Backlight you can create a simple method for compensating for these under exposure issues and get better images in many circumstances. These areas would include darker places, low contrast areas and indoors.
Go out and give this a shot and see how it performs for you. You might be pleasantly surprised by your Windows Phone camera performance after this little tweak.

Why Would Anyone Not Buy The Lumia 521?
Surpassing the performance of anything Android can offer up in the price range, the Lumia 521 simply is out classing the competition. At a price that most people pay for a mid range handset on contract, you can leave the store contract free and carrier free if you'd like. Though the phone is still locked to T-Mobile, you can choose Spot Mobile, Simple Mobile or any other T-Mo MVNO as your carrier of choice for the 521.
Overall, there isn't a better value on the market today. Sure the 512MB of RAM may struggle slightly with some of the more power draining Apps from the Store, but if that is the only compromise you have to make, shouldn't you land one today?

Game Review: Ice Age Village
I’ll be the first to admit that I hate addictive games, but those silly “Village” style games just get to me. Ice Age Village is no exception. This has been the bane of my existence for the last 24 hours and I can’t put it down long enough to get this review posted. That said, what does Ice Age Village do for your Windows Phone? Well, how about hours of entertaining game play, for free…
The premise is simple. It is another “Village” clone that follows Manny, Sid and Diego (plus the bevy of cast members from the newest Ice Age installment) while they create a village to save the animals. You create entertainment for them, homes and ultimately a family for each group of critters. You then branch out and find “Friends” that will help you get even more goodies for your village. It seems that most of this style of game is based on having timings set up like Farmville. Set your longer harvest collections together and check your shorter ones more often.
That said, I haven’t done a full village abandonment yet, so I don’t know what would happen long term if you stop playing. I’d assume that animals would leave and you would have to start over with limited resources, but as I said, I haven’t put this game down in 24 hours.
Ice Age Village is a free game available in the Windows Phone Store. In-App purchases are available for gaining items quicker, but don’t appear to be needed as I have a 4 star village going in just one day without the aid of any additional items.

Hulu+ Appears In WP Store
The interface is smooth and steady and streaming was great over my connection from www.4gfastdata.com and over WiFi. Of course, the free App does require a $7.99 a month Hulu+ subscription, so it isn't really a free App.
For now enjoy streaming away and don't forget to watch for those free WiFi hotspots to keep those data charges lower. Better yet, check out some unlimited plans from www.4gfastdata.com so you can stream all you want.
