The feature that everyone wanted, ever since Windows Phone 7 was unveiled is now upon us. Continuum, or to put it better, SHEER AWESOMENESS, is here. On the new Lumia 950 and 950XL, you can now use the Microsoft Display Dock to link your phone to the big screen and some additional USB devices to give you the full PC experience from your phone. Notice I said from the 950 and 950XL, right? Well, let’s just say that this feature will probably be missing from quite a few past Lumia’s and third party devices if things look like the are going to continue down the same path.
You see, the new Lumia’s feature something that none of the others have had so far – a USB C connection. Unfortunately, the 950/950XL are the only Windows Mobile devices that feature this style of port, which should render the Display Dock useless to everyone else on the planet. This leaves the current Windows Phanatics stuck in the mud when it comes to wanting to use their device as a PC on the big screen, not that anyone with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage would want to, but hey it would be nice to fire up a 1520 on the big screen, wouldn’t it?
